Answer to Fun with Words No. 10
A losel is a worthless person. I’d rather the word meant something positive, but it isn’t up to me this week.
Of course, I don’t subscribe to the concept of a person who is worthless. I wouldn’t have written a book like Welfy Q. Deederhoth: Meat Purveyor, World Savior if I did. To me, the proper definition of “losel” would include the words “a mythical being.”
(And in case you’re wondering what “loselry” means, the dictionary near my desk helpfully offers, “the characterization of a losel.”)
