Answer to Fun with Words No. 05

Witches. Cauldron of yuck. Someone quetched.

Answer to Fun with Words No. 05

Quetch, a word you will never see on any standardized test, means “to break silence, utter a sound.” It does also mean “to twitch or stir,” although I have never used it in that capacity. Not to be confused with “kvetch.”

Example of usage:
“The witches at the cauldron were momentarily silent. “What time is it?” witch Griselda quetched.”
